The same God?
The majority of Muslims, as well as many other people, including many Christians, are of the opinion that Yahweh, the God of the Bible, and Allah, the God of the Quran (the Quran is Allah’s revelation through his prophet Mohammed), are the same God. Is this the truth? How can we be sure that they are the same God? These beings are both revealed through their holy books – the Bible and the Quran. It is from their respective holy books that their moral attributes can be determined without any doubts. If their moral attributes are identical, it can be deduced that they are the same God. In the case of Allah, there is also the Hadith (a collection of the sayings, actions, and customs of Mohammed, recorded by people who lived close to him, and to be followed by Muslims). The Hadith provides deeper insights into the nature of Allah’s moral attributes.
God of Love?
According to the Bible the God of the Christians, Yahweh, is not only a God of love, but love is also his most important moral attribute. This love is not a sentimental or emotional love, but a disposition of benevolence, a quality He also expects from his followers. Is this true? How clear is the Bible about this? And what about Allah, is he also a God of love? Do the Quran and the Hadith clearly assert this prerequisite? What do these two beings expect from their followers as far as love, peace, sin, punishment, salvation, the life hereafter, honesty, war, violence, etc., are concerned? Do they expect from their followers benevolent behaviour towards others, or do they want them to fight on their behalf and to violently force people to worship them? Can both be described as a God of love?
A Book?
During 2001-2002, after the destruction of the World Trade Centre in America on 11 September 2001 by so-called Muslim ‘extremists’, the holy books of these two beings were studied specifically to establish whether their moral attributes are identical, something that would be obvious if they are in fact the same God. In 2003, the result of this study was published in Afrikaans entitled: Wie is God, Yahweh of Allah? A very limited number were printed. Due to numerous requests for an English version, the book has been reviewed and translated into English. It is presently available as an e-book in both English and Afrikaans, only in PDF-format.

Motive?
The motive for this web page and the writing of this book is love. Love that cares, that is benevolent, not emotional or sentimental. A true Christian has no choice but to love all people of all races, convictions and religions. This love is a desire for the wellbeing of all people. It is a disposition and an aspiration to do everything possible to the benefit of one’s neighbour, and nothing to his detriment. When a person knows and serves the only true God, at the very least his/her spiritual health will prosper. We live in a world that is in the power of the evil one, therefore, we cannot expect that things will always be perfect, but if a person’s spiritual health is thriving, the true God’s promise to him/her is that “He will cause all things to work together for his/her good.” That, of course, will apply to anyone who practices His love on earth.
